History

The California Technology Assessment Forum (CTAF) was created on January 1, 2003 with a mission to identify medical technologies that improve health. The CTAF vision is a culture of patient care in which the use of medical technologies is based on scientific evidence.

Since January 1, 2003, the California Technology Assessment Forum has conducted consistently rigorous and objective reviews of new and emerging medical technologies, is actively seeking credible partners, has an independent identity, and now has this Web site through which to disseminate information regarding the technologies considered and to communicate with the professional and consumer community.

The California Technology Assessment Forum is an activity of The Blue Shield of California Foundation, a 501(c)3 exempt private foundation.
