This topic was reviewed by the California Technology Assessment Forum on October 17, 2007. It was recommended that metal on metal hip resurfacing using the BHR or Cormet 2000 devices does not meet CTAF criteria 2-5 for safety, efficacy and improvement in health outcomes.
